OpenGL using C++ for Beginners

Quick Set Up

1. Include the needed libraries.

Library gives programming access to dll files which has a lot of useful functions.

2. Declare variables needed to create the window which will render the graphics.

This window needs the following variables :

window handle – defined as hDC
device context -
OpenGL rendering context – defined as hRC

Every OpenGL program needs a Rendering Context which links OpenGL calls to the Device Context. In order to draw to the window we need to create a Device Context from the windows handler. The Device context connects the window to the Graphics Device Interface. The Rendering Context connects OpenGL to Device Context.

In short : OpenGL needs RC to connect to DC, which draws to the window.

3. Declare the function which will render the window function.

4. Resize function to be able to resize the openGL screen.

5. Initialize the OpenGL application.

6. Setup the OpenGL draw function.

Kasalukuyan kong pinag-aaralan ngayon kung pano gumawa ng rubik’s cube sa iTouch gamit ang Xcode at Objective-C. Nagawa ko na yung cube at napaparotate ko na yung mga side ng cube! Pero ang problema palaging bumabalik siya sa original state nya kada twist ng isang side.

Problema : Nagrereset ang cube kada twist.

Mga konseptong pinag-aaralan :

glLoadIdentity(); – nirereset ang position ng 3D object (eto ata yung may kasalanan)

Ang mga sumusunod ay mga Stock Transformation

glRotatef(); – pinapaikot ang object
glTranslatef(); – pinaurong ang position ng object sa screen
glScalef(); – pinapalaki o pinapaliit ang object

Ang tatlong eto kasama ang glLoadIdentity(); ang kadalasang ginagamit sa paggawa ng laro.

Ang mapait na katotohanan ay hinde ako nabiyayaan masyado ng talento pagdating sa larangan ng mathematics. Pero hayaan mong subukan ko tong i-discuss.

ANG MATRIX NI MR. LAMARCHE

Ang larawan na nakikita mo ay isang halimbawa ng isang MATRIX. Isa itong 3×3 Matrix dahil ito ay may 3 rows at 3 columns.

Eto naman ang isang halimbawa ng 1×3 Matrix dahil ito ay may 1 row at 3 columns. Ang Vector at Vertex ay maaaring irepresenta gamit ang ganitong klase ng matrix. Kung ito’y iyong mapapansin Row x Column ang paglabel sa matrix natin.

Ang isang coordinate system na may x, y, at z ay pwede din nating ilagay sa loob ng isang 3×3 matrix.

Halimbawa ng isang coordinate system na gumagamit ng matrix:

Ang unang column na nasa kaliwa ay ang nagrerepresenta sa ating vertex x. Ang pangalawa naman ay ang vertex y, at ang huli ay ang vertex z. Ang 3×3 na matrix na ito ay ang identity matrix.

Teka may kinalaman ba to sa problema natin? Mukhang nalalayo tayo ahh… Pero tuloy lang?

Sa pagbasa ng tutorial ni Lamarche eto pa ang isa pang karagdagang konseptong nabanggit, ang Matrix Multiplication.

Mga Importanteng Tandaan sa Matrix Multiplication:

[3x3] x [3x3] = pwede
[1x3] x [3x6] = pwede
[3x1] x [3x3] = di pwede

dapat tandaan na ang size ng column ng unang matrix ay dapat kasing laki lang din ng size ng row ng pangalawang matrix, kung hinde, hinde ito pwedeng i-multiply. Isa pang dapat tandaan na ang resulting matrix ay ang size ng row ng unang matrix at nung column size ng pangalawang matrix.

Medyo nakita ko na ang sagot…

Kailangan palang dagdagan pa ng isa pang row at column ang ating 3×3 Matrix kung saan ilalagay natin ang mga ginawa natin sa nauna nating translation at rotation kanina. So lalabas na 4×4 pala dapat… ang coordinate na to ay tatawagin nating coordinate W kung saan iseset natin itong 1.

Possibleng Solution : Customizing Matrix, o_O? OMG…
